| Besides organizing shortcourses,
I am frequently invited to speak about groundwater
issues, primarily those affecting rural and agricultural
areas. These talks may range in length from 20
minutes to 50 minutes and have included a wide
variety of audiences. I have also helped organize
and teach half-day and full-day groundwater seminars
for local water awareness groups, citizens groups,
watershed alliances, etc. These seminars are specifically
geared towards people that are interested in (local)
groundwater issues, but have little or no technical
background in hydrogeology. Teachers, local and
state agency personnel, farmers, citizens, planners,
water/irrigation district managers and personnel,
local politicians, people in the water supply
industry and others have attended these seminars
in the past.
Please contact me (Thomas Harter) for further information.
See under "Examples of Past Extension"
for a list of talks and seminars that I have given
in the past couple of years. To schedule events, please contact
me via email.
